We begin bathing all of our puppies at three weeks of age so that by the time they go to their forever homes, taking a bath is like second nature to them. We familiarize them with collars, harnesses, and leashes. We begin pad training our puppies at four weeks upon introducing them to their Stage 3 pens.
We do not housebreak them however by the time they go to their forever homes they have established that there is a designated spot in which to relieve themselves which makes the process of crate training considerably easier. Most importantly, we fully socialize all of our puppies through an early socialization program from weeks 4 through 8. We accomplished this through interactions with other pets, people, children, introducing them to our pack of breeders, taking them on car rides, exposing them to other environments and sounds as well as surface mediums.
We also give them as much love as is humanly possible. We pride ourselves on how loving and well adapted our mini doxies are. If you take the time to read our reviews, you can get a better idea as to the types of breeders we are. Genetic and DNA are at the top of our priorities list. All of our breeders come from strong bloodlines. One of our goals is to preserve the breed for future generations.
Our second priority is Nutrition. Our breeders diet is essential to producing puppies that are as healthy as a puppy can be. We prepare all of our breeders meals which consist of fresh chicken, brown rice, a melody of fruits and vegetables which we switch up depending upon the season, Omega 3 fatty amino acids, natural probiotics, and supplemental vitamins and minerals. We supplement their primary meal with Royal Canine for Adults during the day.
For snacks we make them scrambled eggs and chicken livers and gizzards. We prepare a gruel when weaning the puppies which consists of Royal Canine for Puppies, puppy milk formula, fresh chicken, raw eggs, and Omega 3 fatty amino acids. We feed them 5x a day. We have all of our nursing breeders on high protein diets consisting of 4–5 meals a day. Most people do not realize that a nursing mother produces 6–7 times her bodyweight while nursing.
We are as passionate as a human can be about what we do and truly feel blessed to not only work with this breed but to have them as part of our family as well.
